Welcome from the Chair

Trauma Melbourne Conference 2009

Following the success of the inaugural Trauma Melbourne 2008 Conference in Melbourne, representatives from across Asia-Pacific are expected to be in attendance. Trauma Melbourne 2008 attracted over 260 delegates from Australia, the Asia-Pacific, the United States of America, Canada, and Europe.

The Conference theme for 2009 is "Optimum Trauma Intensive Care Management" and "Critical Decisions in Critical Care Management" and was chosen for its broad professional appeal to physicians, nurses, paramedics, allied health professionals, general practitioners, public health professionals, scientists, postdoctoral fellows, residents and graduate students, with an expected 250 - 350 participants in attendance.

Trauma Melbourne 2009 will use the successful format of Trauma Melbourne 2008: a 2 day Trauma Conference in November 2009 managed by the NTRI, and offering a program of multidisciplinary clinical and research presentations, and preceded by 2 days of associated workshops. The date for the TM2009 (Friday 20th, and Saturday 21st November) was selected to coincide with the end of the Australasian College of Emergency Medicine Conference.

Trauma Melbourne 2009 will also include Workshops and Education programs, which will precede the conference (18 - 19 November 2009), and held at various venues around Melbourne. This two day Conference and associated Workshops will focus on trauma and intensive care management, drawing expertise from the medical and scientific communities predominately within Australia and New Zealand.

We hope that you can include this date into your diaries and look forward to seeing you at Trauma Melbourne 2009 in November 2009.
